LOVE IS IN THE LAKES

We would like to dedicate this blog entry to Michelle and Darren who got engaged whilst staying here last weekend. Darren chose Buttermere to propose which is a stunning area of natural beauty, just the place for a romantic gesture. We would like to wish them all the best for the future and we look forward to welcoming them both back as husband and wife. We have already taken some honeymoon bookings and we only have two cottages left for valentines so love is definately in the air here at Ellen Hall, home of cottages made for two   Read more

Our first Christmas at Ellen Hall.

We are all looking forward to our first Christmas here at Ellen Hall, home to Cottages made for two. Winter is officially here with snow on the peaks making the mountains more dramatic than ever, the winds have now died down and the sun is shinning on a beautiful December day. We know that during the winter months the two barn cottages are the more popular mainly due to the fact that they both have log burners. We have now had a log burner fitted upstairs in the larger of our upside down cottages, Parlour. This now gives more people the opportunitey to cosy down infront of a roaring fire on a long winters evening. Please keep an eye on our special offers page for the latest information, we are currently running a competion and anyone who stays with us during December, January and Febuary will be entered into a draw to win a two night break in a cottage of their choice next December, excluding the bank holidays. We wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year and we look forward to greeting you in 2012.   Read more

Welcome to our new website

View from Grasmore across Crummock Water.

We would like to welcome you to our new website and we hope that it will either bring back good memories of past breaks here at Ellen Hall or entice you to book your first stay with us. We bought the business and have been running it since the end of July. We have a passion for the fells and when the business allows it we try to get out and about. Yesterday we had stunning weather so we couldn't resist popping on our walking boots and going up Grasmore, visibility was so good that we could see as far as the Isle of Man and all the majestic peaks across the whole of Cumbria and into Scotland. The autumn colours have been as beautiful as ever and we are slowly slipping into winter with a couple of gorgeous frosty mornings. Cockermouth is turning on it's christmas lights at the end of November so why not come and have a short break to do some of your christmas shopping. Take a look at our special offers and late deals. We hope to see some of you over the winter period. Best Wishes Wayne and Jo Read more
