Couples Holiday Cottages

Our accommodation is all contained within the converted 17th century farm buildings at Ellen Hall.

 

Barn Cottages

Perfect for honeymoons, special anniversaries and surprise weekends away, or those who quite simply like to enjoy the best. Open to the beamed rafters, the lounge areas are furnished with cosy chairs & settee – just right for snuggling around the log burning stoves, TV,  and stereo. The galleried bedroom areas have a four-poster bed and mahogany furniture plus a second TV. The bathrooms have bath with shower over; sliding doors convert the bath to a steam cubicle.

Salkeld Cottage

Open fire, four poster bed and steam cubicle, perfect for romance. 
Offers a larger living area than Dykes cottage and the bathroom is upstairs.

Dykes Cottage

Also has an open fire, four poster bed and steam cubicle.

A little smaller than Salkeld and the bathroom is on the ground floor.

Stables Cottages

The Stables Cottages have been converted from the original stables, hayloft and milking parlour. Each cottage retains the stable door entrance and the upper hayloft opening is now a French window affording views over the courtyard to open farmland, letting in light and fresh air, and giving access to the shared balcony. All have the bedrooms on the ground floor and the living accommadation upstairs to make the most of the morning light through the french windows which lead out onto a shared balcony.

Parlour Cottage

This cottage is the largest of the stables cottages, italso has a four poster bed and a Swedish log burner. The bathroom boasts a hydro-therapy shower cubicle.

Hayloft Cottage

Hayloft Cottage is the smallest of the five stables cottages, perfect for those on a budget, or guests simply requiring a pied a terre from which to explore the area, or for anyone holidaying alone.

Stable Cottages 2, 3 & 4

Each cottage is “upside down”, with the double bedroom and en-suite shower room on the ground floor, the living room with kitchen and dining area above. Cosy and warm for the winter months with an electric flame effect stove.
